Yin Yoga is a great complement to a more dynamic Hatha Yoga practice. This slow-moving, deep stretching and meditative class targets the connective tissue (fascia) of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine, to improve energy circulation.
This is a recording of a previously live-streamed class.
The session starts out seated or on the back in Savasana, your choice. Then we warm up the spine with Cat & Cow, and Wild Dog, before coming into a long hold of Frog. Then Sphinx/Seal, 3 variations of Dragon, Butterfly, your Shoelace variation or Figure 4, a brief squat, getting up to standing forward bend, and all the way to standing for a few more dynamic stretches. We end this session quietly seated, just to be. Poses are held for 2 to 5 minutes. All levels are welcome.
